Roxanne Brodeur Young is an abstract artist based in California. She lives and works in between San Francisco and Sacramento, CA.
Roxanne's background in poetry has helped shape her art as metaphorical and spiritual in practice. The act of creating allows her to connect to the invisible and her intention is to be open to the messages that come onto the canvas through colors and shapes. This gives herself and her audience a glimpse of what the psyche wants us to know. Trusting one’s intuition doesn’t always come naturally. The way to get back to this primal instinct is to trust, melt into the process, let go of outcome, and continually practice this. As Roxanne journeys through life, she works at being in the moment and trusting the process, just as in her art practice. Roxanne wants her art to inspire others to persevere in finding their light within their heart and feel it, trust it and follow it. The divine is speaking to us all the time through symbols and metaphors and circumstances, it’s our job to be open and listen, to have fun with it, and to know that it supports us through the difficult times and know that it supports our growth.
